The Raleigh woman who was stuck in Honduras since late July has safely made it into the United States. After being accused of smuggling drugs in a fake can, Laroque was arrested and had her passport taken away. After it came to light that the can didn’t in fact include any sort of drugs, the Honduras DA casually decided to go on vacation which left the woman stuck for several more days. Then came a scare from the DA threatening to appeal the decision, until Wednesday when she was finally given her passport and put on a flight to Houston. LaRoque was set to land in Raleigh at midnight as of yesterday. Our bet is that she won’t be taking another vacation anytime soon. Or for the rest of her life.
