President Donald Trump made headlines last Friday for imposing some of the restrictions on travel and business with Cuba that Barack Obama had previously rolled back. But, if you’ve been dreaming of eyeing vintage cars over a genuine Cuban sandwich, fear not. There are still ways to get down to our neighbor to the south. You can no longer go on individual “people-to-people” trips to Cuba, but people-to-people trips organized through the U.S. Department of the Treasury will still be allowed. In our area, places like the North Carolina Museum of Art has organized people-to-people trips to Cuba, on which people learned about art and culture of the Cuban people. We know, we know — it sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through for a vacation. But hey, times, they are a changin’.
