Billionaire Bill Gates believes there is a solution to managing the disease, and that the long-term goal is a cure. Investing $50 million of his own money into the Dementia Discovery Fund, a private-public research partnership that essentially looks into the brain cell’s immune system. By 2050, Alzheimer’s disease is expected to cost more than $1 trillion across 16 million Americans living with the disease.
