They say everything is bigger in Texas, and now that (kinda) includes the Carolina Hurricanes, as Dallas businessman Thomas Dundon became the majority owner of the Triangle’s favorite hockey team on Thursday. Dundon now owns 61 percent of the team, while previous franchise owner Peter Karmanos will hold on to a minority stake. New ownership could come with a lot of changes for the hometown team, but it looks like we’ll have to just wait and see what those changes will be. Based on Dundon’s history in business, though, the shakeup could be a good thing. He has his hand in a variety of businesses, and sports is nothing new to Dundon, who was an early investor in Top Golf. At least this guy seems like he knows how to have a good time. So welcome to the Triangle, Mr. Dundon … now can you just bring Stanley with you?
