As of Monday afternoon, the sale of the Carolina Panthers to hedge fund manager David Tepper is officially official, so let’s all join in welcoming this guy to the saddest NFL fanclub in the land (just kidding; we wouldn’t want to steal your title, Browns fans!). Former owner Jerry Richardson, who announced his decision to sell the team late last year amid allegations of racial and sexual misconduct in the workplace, released a statement about the sale Monday, saying, “I wish Mr. Tepper all the best; the team is in good hands.” Well, that’s good to know. Sooo, when’s our Lombardi Trophy coming, David? No pressure.
