We all count on law enforcement officers to keep us safe, but unfortunately, the state of North Carolina is having trouble finding people to fill some of those jobs, as there are many openings for N.C. State Troopers and police departments across the state. So what do recruiters want us to know? The benefits are good, the job is challenging, and contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to have an impeccable driving record to get hired (because really, who even does?) Sadly, this doesn’t appear to be an issue unique to our state; there is a shortage all across the nation for police, teachers, local government officials. Why? Oh, probably because they’re jobs are so stressful and so important, yet most of them don’t earn a fraction of what they deserve. God bless our law enforcement officers. Keep making Barney Fife proud.
