They beat Duke on Friday night, but they couldn’t get it done against UVA. The Heels dropped the ACC title game to the Virginia Cavaliers, losing by 8 points on Saturday. In the Heels defense, UVA set a school record for victories this year and was chosen as a No. 1 seed during Selection Sunday. Originally, the Cavs were predicted to finish the season unranked and sixth in the conference. So much for preseason projections. Despite the loss, the Heels are confident in their abilities heading into the NCAA tournament. Knowing that they have to be strong defensively in order to win games, the Heels expect to head into the madness of March with a game plan to get the job done.
